This document describes how to install Biz Solutions Package.

Minimal System Requirements

 

System requirements are described in the System Requirements section.

What other software must be installed first?

 

Biz Solutions has been tested successfully on Windows operating systems. The setup program automatically identifies what are the other software needed to install as prerequisites. Depending on Windows OS version.

  • Windows NT 4 Service Pack 6a
  • Windows 2000 Service Pack 4
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 Sp1r
  • Microsoft Data Access Components 2.8
  • Microsoft JET 4.0 Sp8
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0
  • Crystal Reports - (Only needed for Client Component)
  • SQL Server (MSDE) - (Only needed for Server component)
     

How do I install Biz Solutions (Client)?

 

Please follow these steps:

1. Insert Biz Solutions Setup CD to your machine’s CD Drive

 

 

2. Run the SetupClient.exe from the CD location

 

 

3. The installer program automatically detects what are the prerequisites that your machine needs to install.

 

 

5. Install them one by one. Setup automatically ask you when need restart the machine. Restart when needed.

 

 How do I install Biz Solutions (Server)?

 

Please follow these steps:

This document describes how to get started with Biz Solutions Package.

 How can I quickly get started using Biz Solutions Client?

 

1. Run the application Start > Programs > Biz Solutions > Biz Solutions.<AppName>. If this is your first time logging, System require a valid registration key. This key is supplied with installation CD. Copy that key and past in the registration dialog and press OK. other wise this will popped up a Login Dialog.

 

 

2. Login with username "demo", password "demo".

 

 

3. You can first see the splash screen and then see the application with "Home" page and "Navigation panel".

4. Expand the Navigation tree and see the different available actions you can launch.
 

 How can I get database backup?

 

Periodically it is recommended to keep database backup in order to prevent any data loss.

1. This can be only done in the server machine. Run the application Start > Programs > Biz Solutions > Database Admin > Biz Backup.

 

 

2. Specify valid destination directory to make database backup. Recommended to use external storage ad destination.

 

 

3. Press "Create Backup". This will create new database backup in your destination directory. This will contain 2 files.

Bizdata.mdf

BizData_Log.ldf

Please remember to close connected biz clients if any before start this process. 

 

How can I get restore my database backup?

 

When you move your server installation from one location to another, you must first get a database backup. After install new server in the new location, you must need to restore your working database back. Then you will need this "Database Restore" .

 

1. This can be only done in the server machine. Run the application Start > Programs > Biz Solutions > Database Admin > Biz Restore.

 

 

2. Specify "bizdata.mdf" in your backup source as "Restore From" and press "Restore Database". Note all connected Biz clients must be closed before start this process.

Installation of Visual Studio 2005 on the Intel Itanium (IA64) is not supported.

Recommended:

Without MSDN:
· 2 GB of available space required on installation drive
· 1 GB of available space required on system drive
With MSDN:
· 3.8 GB of available space required on installation drive with a full MSDN install or
2.8 GB of available space required on installation drive with a default MSDN install.
· 1 GB of available space required on system drive

System Requirements (Server Component)

 

System Requirements for Installing SQL Server 2000 Database
Microsoft SQL Server 2000 operates on computers running Intel or compatible Pentium, Pentium Pro, or Pentium II processors.
The processor must be running at a minimum of 166 MHz. The editions and versions of SQL Server 2000 have these

Operating System
SQL Server 2000 requires Internet Explorer 5.0 or later and is supported on these operating systems:
 

Windows 2000

 Microsoft Windows NT version 4.0 Service Pack 5 or later

 Windows Millennium Edition

 Windows 98

 Windows 95 (client connectivity option only)
 

Memory (RAM) requirements:

Enterprise Edition 64 MB of minimum, 128 MB recommended
Standard Edition 64 MB of minimum
Personal Edition 64 MB on Windows 2000, 32 MB on all other operating systems
Developer Edition 64 MB of minimum
Desktop Engine 64 MB minimum on Windows 2000, 32 MB on all other operating systems
SQL Server 2000 has the following hard drive requirements,
Depending on the components and setup option selected:
Database components 95 to 270 MB, 250 MB typical
Analysis Services 50 MB minimum, 130 MB typical
English Query 80 MB
Desktop Engine only 44 MB
 

Display & Other
SQL Server 2000 requires a monitor with VGA resolution; the SQL Server graphical tools require a monitor with 800x600 resolution or higher.
SQL Server 2000 requires a CD-ROM drive, and a Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device.
The latest service pack for Windows NT is available at
http://support.microsoft.com/support/NTServer.
Before installing SQL Server 2000 software on Windows 95, you must install a Winsock 2 Update for Windows 95. This
update is supplied on the SQL Server 2000 compact disc and can be installed by selecting the SQL Server 2000
Prerequisites option from the autorun window displayed by the SQL Server 2000 compact disc.
SQL Server 2000 is not supported on Windows NT 4.0 Terminal Server.
